Hi, my name is Guy Jones and this is the first of a series of monthly blogs I will be writing for the Lewis Balyckyi Trust Fund as they support me through the 2020 season.
I am 20 years old and for 2020 I am racing for EuroCyclingTours – CMI cycling. The team is a UCI continental registered team in the Oceania tour however it is split into two with a Southern hemisphere group of riders as well as a Northern selection. I will be riding as a development rider for this season.
This season will see me take a step up in the level of racing I do. As a development rider for a UCI Pro team I will have the opportunity to race in a handful of UCI races across Europe while also heading to the continent for smaller races. Here in the UK my season will be mostly made up of Regional A races and National B’s, while being supplemented with the Premier calendar series races. I will be racing across the South West where I currently live as well as in the North West from where my parents live.
Lastly I want to say a big thank you to the Lewis Balyckyi Trust Fund for supporting me this season, their help means that I can be a full time rider and chase my dream without distraction.
